This was great for my 6 year old to read. He is starting to read on his own but 'struggles' with the regular books, by that I mean, he is not interested if there is way more words than pictures LOL I figured a 'comic' would work and let me tell you, it did! He is reading all these on his own and WANTS to read them. I recommend purchasing if you want your kid to read more. Yes, they are comics, not necessarily educational, bla bla bla but s long as the kid reads they are fine with me. Really wanted to get the "paper" version of this but was not able to bring myself to pay the price difference.

I love this series of scooby-doo team ups so look much. I gave it a five because I love Ace the dog he's cool. The Dynamic Scooby Duo sounds pretty cool. I would recommend this to everybody.

These men were so vile and gross and 100% taking advantage of these girls to suit their needs. I swear I wanted to punch them all in the face so many times. But these girls, Mena, Sydney, Annaliese, Marcella, Brynn and Valentine (not a name a few), were actually what these men feared. These women together held all the power. They were the ones that were able to stand up for themselves and say ‘no, enough is enough’, and I loved every minute of it.I want to say so much about this story. I want to tell you every detail and small thing I loved. But I refuse to ruin this experience. I strongly feel this is a book that everyone should read and will love. It is so unexpected and brilliantly done. I really can’t say any more than that. If you have trusted my book judgement in the past then trust it now. I swear it is worth it!Now bring on Girls with Razor Hearts!

I am in the minority, so take my review with a grain of salt.I began Girl with Sharp Sticks after a book that I died for. And beginning this book most likely altered how I feel about it.I didn't connect to Philomena, the plot, or the setting. It took me a while to begin the story, and I had to restart two times. I couldn't focus on the beginning, and I read pretty far.The biggest problem I had was the topics that were discussed within the story. I can handle certain things, but abuse is hard for me to take. And because this story mentions in, along with sexism, I think that is the main problem of why I couldn't connect. The ending was compelling, regardless if there's a cliffhanger.As I said before, I am in the minority. The premise is wonderful, filled with classic Suzanne Young magic. Give Girls with Sharp Sticks a try, because you will have a different opinion than I will.*Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.*

If you like dystopian that still feels grounded, this book is for you. And best of all, if you know Suzanne's writing, you know this book will be full of TWISTS. GIRLS does not disappoint. There are a few awesome shout outs to her PROGRAM series that make you have a nostalgia for Young's New York Times bestselling (and groundbreaking) series about mental illness, but it's still entirely original. One of the standout YA novels of the year - and it's only March. Can't recommend this enough. Give a copy to all of the GIRLS (and guys) in your life!

It only took one time of picking up and I was hooked! This story was so unique, and there was a lot details left to fall out as part of the plot in such a seamless manner, but also in a way that kept the suspense going the whole time. We got introduced to characters that seemed like they might be the good guys, the ones out to help these girls who may not have understood what really they were being subjected to. Even with those helpful things they did, there was always the niggling sensation in the back of my mind about what exactly were the motivations behind the supposedly good guys' actions. Were they entirely selfless? Or as we learn with at least one of them, there might have been some selfishness in the reasons.When finally we get into some of the science behind what is going on, it made me think of lobotomies, yet I couldn't imagine how in the world that worked with what was going on while they performed the procedure. The ending fit the title of the book so perfectly, but also left you hanging a bit. While some things, for our main characters really, might have been solved or somewhat fixed, overall, there are still a few loose ends left at the conclusion. Ones that may leave this open for a sequel. And that sequel could have more to do with our original cast, but I am going to guess the ones who still need help will be in that story as well.This is only my 2nd book by this author, but it only makes me more determined to read The Program series! I will definitely be purchasing this for the students in my school library to read as well with my next budget money for next school year, as it has some great tie-ins to things going on in the world today. And the acknowledgement by the author at the end is really perfect.

Nice quality product. Got one for a friend and she loves it. Perfect to be able to remind yourself of the 4 agreements. They are printed in full on the back, which it does not mention in the write up.

I am mostly happy with these bookmarks. They are just a bit big for my preference. My biggest issue is with one of the tassels getting trapped in the package adhesive and upon carefully removing it, the ends of the tassel became frayed and the adhesive tearing off and attaching. I have not yet begun to remove the torn part of the package that stayed attached and I imagine it may cause further damage. I was unable to find an avenue of contacting the seller with this information and it seems I’m left with sending them all back or keeping them, including the one that is damaged.

I decided to buy a bookmark because the bookmark I had recently acquired had gone missing after only one tour of duty. I previously used four bookmarks, often simultaneously, but these had become wrinkled and bent with age. Don't get me wrong - when I placed one of them between the pages of a book I had temporarily stopped reading, then later picked up the book, I could still find the place in the book where I had left off, with exactly the same precision and timeliness as if the bookmark had been freshly printed and cut and slipped in a newly-purchased bag of books. But every now and then you just need to replace your bookmarks, you know? Besides, in recent years my reading had slowed down considerably, so the four wrinkled, bent bookmarks doubly reminded me of my inevitable hurtle toward aging, superfluity and death.Anyway, I have this fab new bookmark for which I have great plans, and then, after a week away, it's not there. It's nowhere. I looked in the books I had recently completed, I looked behind my nightstand, everywhere, to no avail. That's when I decided to take action...I cleaned out the drawer in my nightstand and found an old notepad upon which I had long ago written four pretty wise bits of advice. Then I decided to buy a bookmark.When I entered the term "bookmark" in the Amazon search bar, I was presented with numerous choices, none of which appealed to me. As I was about to give up, I saw this Four Agreements bookmark. I immediately recognized the Four Agreements as the bits of wisdom I had left on my notepad many years ago. I took that as a sign and immediately bought one. Then I thought, "Hey, why not rage, rage against the burning of the light, sort of, and buy two?" So I did.They showed up two days later, and to my surprise, turned out to be so much more than I'd expected. Not only do the actual bookmarks show the promise of being able to stay exactly in the book where I place them, they come packed in a plastic sleeve with a black cardboard backing, each of which makes an excellent bookmark in its own right. So now, instead of two new bookmarks replacing one lost bookmark (that had in itself replaced four), I had six.I have to admit, the black cardboard backing gave me pause, for two reasons. First, it's black. Obviously funereal. But also quite stylish. I decided to focus on the stylish. Second, it has a punch-out at the top, obviously intended to facilitate its hanging on the revolving book stands of airport gift shops and other such establishments. But, if looked at in a different light, it's also a pretty cool, art deco representation of a sunset over the ocean. Wait, that's going back to the pessimistic side...let's switch coasts and call it a sunrise over the ocean. So now I have a stylish bookmark depicting an art deco sunrise over the Atlantic.You'd think that would be the end of the story, wouldn't you? But it's not. As these things often turn out, as soon as I had received my new bookmarks, I found the missing bookmark that had started all of this. Now I had seven bookmarks, which, by anyone's standard, is too many. So I decided to do the right thing by my retired bookmarks - rather than put them in some drawer or tucked away between the pages of a book I'd already read and re-shelved (sort of like a permanent working retirement), I tucked them in the nice plastic sleeve and gave them a permanent home in the notebook in which I record the titles of all the books I've read by year.So, to conclude this review, this is a great bookmark, of high quality, with excellent value and upon which are written four bits of quite useful advice. I heartily recommend it.

I'm surprised at all of the good reviews for this bookmark, perhaps it is different than it once was. It is super-thin. Basically a thick laminated paper -- not even a very thin cardboard or stock. The little sleeve that it came in is higher quality than the bookmark! The tassel and bead are nice, though. I wouldn't have purchased this had I seen it in person and its certainly not worth more than $0.99.

This product came exactly how it looks colors and all. I like the front and back sayings and I feel inspired by its message. You can use it in a book or just carry it around when you need a reminder and a pick me up. To better oneself. I bought two of these and the price is nice. One for myself and one for a friend.

High quality, bright colors, tassel in excellent condition! I will continue to purchase these as I believe the quality is phenomenal, the price is fair, and these are items that will last that I can pass down to my granddaughter along with my book collection. Thank you so much for an amazing item!

Alright, so, after a while of mixing things on my own, I figured that I had a pretty good idea of what mixing entails. Well, I was in for a surprise. I had heard good things about this book, and I thought to myself, "Hmm...might be a cool book to just further my learning." The book arrived and I dove in, hoping to find a few tips and some insight from several acclaimed mixers and producers. Little did I know, I was in the middle of a gold mine.This book is awesome! It has virtually everything you ever wanted to know about mixing. Tons of thoughts and SPECIFICS on EQs, Compression, balance, panning, and all kinds of great information. Owsinski gives specific ideas and settings for frequency slotting and balance. For example, on page 33 there is a chart that has "magic frequencies", or "sweet spots" in the frequency spectrum for different instruments, i.e, "Horns: Fullness at 120Hz, Piercing at 5kHz" or "Conga: Ring at 200Hz, slap at 5kHz".MANY times you will get books that have a bunch of mediocre information and their key point is "you just have to play around with it until you find that sweet spot" or "it's all up to you". What's great about this book is that it gives you a STARTING POINT plus is has a TON of thoughts on specific subjects by some (some...try 22!) of the most renowned mixers in the business including Allen Sides, Don Hahn, Bruce Swedien, Elliot Scheiner, John X, and Ed Seay. In the later chapters of the book, he has strictly the interviews of mixers in their entirety. The interviews are mostly about their philosophies and methods on mixing as a WHOLE. The specifics are left embedding into the chapters.So, if you think you know it all, get this book! If you think you don't know where to start, get this book! It will rock your world and change your entire way of thinking, at least, it did for me! 5 stars!

I have some similar books in this genre, and I am getting the most use out of this one. It not only contains the general "rules of thumb", but it gets much more specific about things you can try in terms of recording, mixing, effects, etc. This book drove home the point about how important it is to have proper EQ, so that each instrument has a place to "sit" in the frequency spectrum.It covers compressors in a much more practical way than some other books, giving you some really nice tips on how to get a great vocal.I love the chapter on effects, and especially the specific tips on layering reverbs.And then there are the interviews which really show you how much work and technique the pros are using that the average home enthusiast is not. Those interviews woke me up and let me know that I'm going to have to get a lot better and work a lot harder to create the same quality as the pros.The information on file formats is very good too. I had no idea that MP3 files had so many drawbacks and were so touchy.Only the most minor annoyances keep this book from being a pillar of magnificent writing. I would like to see the names of the equipment being constantly mentioned get fully-worded, rather than just slinging out terms like "808". (That's some type of Roland drum-machine the best I can tell.) In other words, instead of saying "LA2A", give the brand-name, the model number, and what kind of gear it really is so that a beginning reader can follow along better.The bottom line is that this book will make you better and give you a lot more knowledge than you probably had if you're trying to learn proper mixing.

This is a great book for beginning and intermediate audio nerds (like me) who want to learn more and have some great reference material while mixing. I haven't finished reading it through completely but I'm already impressed with the detail and organization of the material. highly recommended for others who want a better understanding of mixing and all of its elements.

When I first received this in the mail, based on it's weight and thickness, I though I might have made a mistake! I am a beginner at sound engineering so I thought I might have jumped the gun when getting something as advanced as this. But, actually, it starts from the beginning and get's you up to speed rather fast with some really great knowledge. I am still working my way through it but enjoying it immensely. I do have my own video production company and have gone quiet far at that, so I am not a stranger to how advanced and technical things can get. I feel confident in saying this book still offers a lot for someone who has been doing their own recording for a while and also helps point out how much a novice you might find yourself in a knowledge base of certain areas.

If you want to improve your mixes, this is one of the best books I've come to find, by far. The real secrets by the people that have made the albums everyone loves.

After trying other books, online courses and youtube videos about mixing (months friends, months) I have found my Mixing Bible. This book is that good. Thank you to the author. The section about comments from experienced sound engineers is so good that this book finds and gives you "the truth of the matter".

Bought this for my boyfriend who's been into recording, mixing, etc, now for a number of years (he's always been a musician and for a long time played in bands AND "did sound" for his own bands as well as others'). Out of several similar books, he picked this one - and he's barely put it down since he received it. He seems to be learning a lot, and it also seems like it's not super-difficult to follow or too dry (otherwise he'd have given up on it already). For the price, it's a steal, given all the useful info in this book. If you're on the fence for yourself or a friend - buy it! You won't regret it.
