I bought this book for the step by step guidelines on how to build a chicken coop. I was expecting multiple blue prints for various chicken coops, instead there was only one coop available. Additionally, I found the directions extremely hard to follow. To begin with, the items needed for the coop do not describe the length of the lumber needed. To begin with, the directions call for 2 - 4-in. x 4-in. posts -- however, it does not say anywhere how long the posts are supposed to be to begin with. For a true beginner like myself, this left me baffled. And, after a quick google search I couldn't figure out what a standard 4x4 post was supposed to be--so I'm not sure where to begin with this.However, I really did like the introductory material on what you needed to have for a good chicken coop. I thought this material was well written and clear. Green did a good job of explaining what you need and why you need it.

This book is so cool. Building a great shelter for hens is indeed awesome especially for the winter season. It is absolutely a must to prepare chicken coops to stand the coldness of the season. Me and my partner have been trying to build a chicken coop this past few days then I found this book and I purchased it right away, this book provide easy to follow instruction and ideas to building a great chicken coop, and this book contains a nice design of chicken coop sample, I HIGHLY recommend this book if you want to build your own chicken coop then this book can able to help you to build DIY chicken coop.

Not worth the money. Doesn't really give a lot of information on actually building. Just discusses types. Includes only one plan and it is not even the one on the cover. Sending to provided email for free plans does not work, and you won't get a response. Buy Building Chicken Coops for Dummies. Much better book with many detaile plans and thorough helpful instructions.

This is a great guide book for beginners. I purchased this book for my mum really loves chicken and it has been of great help when constructing the coop. The book guides on what to consider when constructing the coop such as the size, and the materials best to use and it is very pleasing to collect fresh and warm eggs which are of high quality. The book further gives on the advantages and disadvantages. A great book.

A lot of information about raising chickens but not as much about building coops. I haven't finished reading it but I found that the materials list for the first coop seems to be missing or having the incorrect numbers of some items. The building instructions contain wording that is unclear to me. It may be that Mr. Green is using language that is colloquial and the terms may be common to where he lives. Some things that are referred to in the instructions seem to no refer to items as they are listed in the materials list.

This book is poorly written, repetitive and barely useful. I read the "book" in a bout 20 minutes, but the information it contained could have been compiled in a pamphlet. The book made several references to non-existent photos. The main reason I purchased the book is that it included a "step-by-step guide" to build a chicken coop. I liked the chicken coop/run on the cover of the book, however the plans are for a different coop. I thought that was deceptive. The book reads like a 9th grade science project.
