good book

Is the worst book I have ever read, gives too many general examples and one doesn't learn anything specific . Full of citations and general talk around the same thing over and over . Really shallow.

Rarely have I have been more inspired to do anything than I was to write this review in response to the One Star put forth by "Celeste." She called it the worst book she'd ever read, and while she is entitled to her opinion, I wonder to what extent her medical condition influenced her review. To wit, and quoting from the review she'd made of a "skin tightening product," ... "After applying this I was swollen so much my mouth around it and my cheeks I HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL I had an infection don't ask me HOW."Celeste, believe me, I do not want to know HOW.In point of fact, the book is extraordinarily well-written, thoughtful and thought-provoking. It is a book any primary school teacher should have in their kit-bag.It is a treatise and as such is rightly full of references and support for the many approaches they chronicle. Highly recommended.

I just ordered this book after reading someone else's copy. This is a book that covers an area seldom covered by most texts, Common Core for K-6. This is a well written and helpful book for anyone that is trying to introduce disciplinary literacy into the lower grade classrooms. I love the citations because they guide me to further readings on the topic. The book is concise and full of the type of information any good teacher can take and develop rich, rigorous and engaging units focusing on disciplinary literacy. Since many people really don't understand or have not been exposed to disciplinary Literacy, I found this book to be an excellent resource. This book will help inform my work moving forward.
